i can see myself in your eyes

Good thing I’m so handsome.
And your eyes are so clear
internally flawless
but not colorless
Certainly a cut above
as they cut through me
straight to my heart.

Metaphors fall to their knees in my brain
pleading to be used
but I don’t feel

no matter how many synapses they cross
no matter how many syllables they bear
no matter how unique their words

that any are worthy
of being compared
to the eyes
that I look into
when I see into your soul.

I can read your mind
and I can feel your heart
but when I see through your eyes
I can see forever

Word Counts 11/26 and 11/27

Yes indeed; two consecutive days of putting words on the page. Netting me a total of 684 words.

Other stats:

Words per day of writing: 546

Words per day total: 162

Days between 11/26 and 11/16: 10

And that is why November is not a good NaNoWriMo month (at least for me… I actually spoke to a friend over Thanksgiving break who was doing the NaNoWriMo thing for a Young Adult book she was working on, and I think she was actually getting it done. Good work.)

But, at least this means I can probably post whatever that Snippet Friday thing is this Friday.

Mini NaNoWriMo

I know that it’s not impossible for me to write 50,000 in a month. But in my current situation, where I have to work 8 hours a day, it’s very difficult. And November is about the worst month anyone could have possibly picked for NaNoWriMo. I mean, not everyone has a birthday in November (like me), but pretty much everyone has Thanksgiving. This year, I’m visiting my parents for 4 days for Thanksgiving. So, yeah, NaNoWriMo isn’t going to happen. Just like it doesn’t happen every year for me. At some point, I’m going to figure out a month where I can have my own personal NaNoWriMo.

So even though I’m not going to get to 50,000 words, I’ve been inspired by reading other “on writing” blogs where authors are posting their word counts. That, and I’ve found myself with more free time than I usually do. Not sure how that happened. As such, I’ve managed to get in 3,000 word so far this month (don’t look now! That’s 230 words / day!) … That’s a real banner month for me, and it’s not even half over!

I’m pretty happy with the wanna-be writer thing at this point, though. And I’ve got 2 other blogs that I write, so I feel like I get in some good practice there, even if it’s not “novel” writing. Just gotta get the words out there.

See you in another 4 months!
